I created more instagram posts and I completed the SPOT survey.

Why I Did It

As the project is due next week and I am presenting on Monday I am wrapping up my project. I need to do last minute things and finish up. I also completed the SPOT survey because that is really important to the department and university.

I worked on more of the instagram posts for my project.

Why I Did It

I did this because once I have them all finished I just need to put them together in the flipbook that I made. I think it is coming together well.

When my group looked at my project they liked my idea and the setup. They liked the instagram posts and the fact that I used a flipbook.

Problems

They suggested that if there was a way that I could make it look more like an instagram feed that would be cool but if not they really liked it as it is.

What I’m going to do:

Going from here I am going to finish making the instagram posts and then arrange them in the flipbook. I want multiple pictures for each dwarf. This will involve taking a lot of pictures and then editing more pictures.

I have made a lot of my instagram posts and planned out more of what I plan to do. A lot of information does not need to be documented off the internet because I am using my own pictures.

Why I Did It

I did this so I have a better idea of where I am and what I need to do from here. I have a solid direction to go from here and a plan. I liked making the actual instagram posts because now I see what my project is going to look like.

Today I created part of my mockup for my project. I included some of the Instagram posts that I will make with examples of the pictures.

Why I Did It

I redirected my idea away from a video and more in the social media direction. This was helpful because now I can fully concentrate on this. The mockup will give me more direction and a clear place to start designing. Before next class I am going to draw up the rest of the posts and add that to my mockup.

I created a timeline and started planning my project more in a Word document just to get all of my thoughts down.  I also tried to find more sources and made sure I was keeping track of everything I have.  I looked at the various resources posted to see if any would be helpful to me.

Why I Did It

I created the timeline in order to hold myself accountable to stay on top of the project and not let myself get behind.  This is a very busy time in the semester so I want to make sure I keep up with my work and not let it pile up.  Getting all my ideas down was helpful just to give myself a clearer starting point.  Keeping track of the sources will help me in the end so I don’t have to go back and find where I got all of the information.  Looking at the resources posted helped give me ideas of what else I can do with my project.

• Mock-up or Storyboard on 4/15
• Script written by 4/17
• Filming over the weekend

Identify what genre you want to use for the project: as of right now I think I am going to make a video but I might potentially make twitter posts instead

What makes a good digital story

I personally liked the Chamber of Postsecrets and the Little Red Riding Hood one. I thought that they were both very unique and creative. They very obviously put a lot of time and effort into them. They weren’t what would necessarily be the first idea that most people would think of so that made them stand out. They had a good use of modes of communication and technology.

Stories I am considering

I am still thinking about what I want to do for the project. I should have a better, solid idea after this weekend. I potentially might do something with Cinderella or a retelling of the children’s story Are You My Mother?

I am most interested in using ThingLink.

Why I found it interesting:

I found it interesting because it seemed like a tool similar to aspects of Facebook but it was solely pictures.  I liked that you could tag pictures and then other people could view it.  I thought it would definitely be interesting for pictures in the news so that you could get a variety of outlooks.

How I might use it:

I would use it for personal pictures that I could share with family and friends.  I would be interested in looking at other people’s pictures as well.
