I changed the layout of my About Me page.

Why I Did It:

I made the text wrap around the pictures, and now the layout of the page looks a lot better. I’m trying to find a transparent New York Rangers logo so there isn’t a white box around the image, but I may have to make my own. I believe that the theme I’m using makes it difficult to make links to new pages on my blog, so I am going to see if there is a similar theme that makes linking to new pages easier.

I created an about me page.

Why I Did It:

I used the online identity project that had previously been written as my blog’s About Me page. I added photos, but I’m not entirely satisfied with the way the layout of the page is. I’m going to work on making the page itself look better.

I created multiple categories, as well as a tag, in order to organize my blog.

Why I Did It:

I created a category for each project that we will do, as well as categories for blog updates and general posts. I also made a tag for blog updates, and will continue to make new tags as different types of posts are made. I feel that this is a good way to structure and organize the different kinds of posts that will be made on this blog.

I picked a theme to apply to my blog.

Why I Did It:

I like minimalist themes. The Minnow theme is one of the plainest ones I could find while still looking appealing. It starts out all white, but I changed the color pallet to a grayish-blue background with white font. I think it looks good, and I’m pleased with my choice.

I created my blog, and went through and changed a couple of settings.

Why I Did It: 

I’m not feeling too creative today, so I’m going to change the title of my blog and add a tagline when I think of a good idea for both of them. I suppose that the theme I choose will have some sort of influence over my decision. I didn’t change too many of the default settings on WordPress because I’m assuming that once I start using it more I’ll figure out what I want to change. The only things I did change were my timezone and the way my name is displayed on posts.
