Colophon- What I Did & Why

What I Did:

I created a Colophon page, and after looking over the links for examples of “About” pages, updated my own About page as well.

Why I Did It:

First, I created the site information page located in the top menu bar of my page, titled “colophon.” I didn’t have much information to include. I wasn’t sure if I was missing things, but since my page is pretty basic, I included the name of the theme I used and who made it, the website I’m using (WordPress), and information about my pictures. There are only 2 images on my blog and both were taken and edited by me, so I didn’t have much information to include there either.

Next, I updated my “About” page. I thought I was satisfied with my initial About page, but after reviewing some of the links provided with the days assignment, realized there was a lot I could improve on. With my initial attempt at my About page, the only thing I was aiming for was to keep it short and easy, as to not bore the reader. One of the links listed not including your name as a mistake, so I knew I needed to change that. Pretty much all of the links stated that the About page is for the reader, and why should they be on your site. So from there I added a short ‘who,’ ‘what,’ ‘when,’ ‘where,’ ‘why’ list. I thought this was the quickest and most simple way for the reader to get an understanding of my blog before deciding whether to keep reading or not.
I left mostly all of what I had initially written because it was not repeating anything from what I had added, and I thought it was still interesting enough to leave.
