WHAT I DID:

Today I added a background color to my homepage and three different widgets to my sidebar (calendar, gravatar, and follow button). I also added a Contact Me page and added it to the menu on the homepage. I changed my header picture as well.

WHY I DID IT:

I didn’t know I could customize with this theme–when I added the purplish background I finally felt good about choosing this theme because it’s not boring now that it’s not all white. I added the widgets to make my homepage more involved. The calendar makes me feel organized and I didn’t want my picture to be the header picture so I changed it to a watercolor pattern that matched my background and put a gravatar widget in that had my picture and a short little sentence about the blog. I added the contact me page so the blog is a little more complex and maybe someday someone will actually use it.
