Using Autocorrect

I have had plenty of experiences with autocorrect correcting too many things.  It’s changed the meaning of what I was trying to say, and it’s changed the text to make no sense at all.

The most common issue I have with autocorrect is when it “remembers” how I have typed things in the past.  It tends to make me sound a little over-excited.  For example, I have texted my friend before saying “HAHAHAHA,” in all caps because something was really funny.  Autocorrect often replaces a “haha” with the one above, which is a little too much sometimes.

Autocorrect does make things easier for me.  Its affordances include fixing my incorrect spelling, making texting faster, and automatically capitalizing names/places.  Its constraints, though, include replacing words that I don’t want replaced, like in the situation I described above.
