Creepin’ On Previous Project 3s

Today we looked at Project 3 examples from previous class sections. My group was assigned to focus on the essay written for Editorially, a writing and editing app.  I think the author did a good job of introducing the application overall.  She was very thorough in her results and did helpful things such as incorporating screenshots of the various windows and sectioning out parts of the essay.

The one thing I will definitely take away from reading this essay is simplicity and creativity are key.  It was very hard to navigate the essay because of the way it was formatted.  She was correct in splitting it into sections so it was clear the goals of each; however, if the reader is unable to find any of those sections it helps no one.

Another thing I learned from her site in general is executing what you say you are going to. The author talks about being a professional writer and having various skills, yet she does not utilize those skills in her overall site. There a numerous grammar and spelling errors throughout – including in the essay – and a lot of sentences are written in poor English.

Overall, I think it was helpful to look over previous projects to not only get a sense of what my own project needs to have included, but to see the dos and don’t as well as what I can improve upon in my own execution of the project.
