Interrogating someone else’s interrogated interface

Today in class, I examined someone’s project on the website, PowToon. I actually did learn a lot about this person’s interface because the student was extremely thorough in her explanation of her interface. I noticed that she detailed pretty much each mode of communication that could have applied to her interface in her explanation, and I really liked that. I also really liked how she embedded pictures within the text to help illustrate what she was talking about in the copy, and I also felt like the copy was organized really nicely into different sections.

However, I think something I learned from this project is that it’s really important to not make blog posts too text heavy. I was extremely intimidated by her huge chunks of texts and because this isn’t the most intriguing topic to read about, I honestly did not read everything. I think if she would have just broken things down into smaller chunks and added more visuals in between her explanations, I would have been more inclined to read what she wrote about. This is something I hope to do with my project so that more people will be interested in reading about Heganoo!
