on the example essays

blog post for 3/2/15

while looking at the example essays, i found several things that stood out to me that i would like to incorporate into my own project, the most important being creative voice. i absolutely loved the way that the writer of the essay i looked at with my group (Editorially) was able to bring his own personality into the essay to make it an easy read and interesting to the reader. i find this so extremely important because i often find that people get bogged down in trying to act “professional” – and that just turns into boring. if i have no interest in what you’re saying, how am i going to get anything from it? answer: i won’t. although trying to incorporate your personality to keep it interesting, it’s important to still keep the audience close in mind: you don’t want to offend or annoy them. simple, widely excepted humor and a flowing and lively voice, much like the one in the Editorially essay, is most likely best.

something i definitely will not do: make it impossible to find the rest of my essay. I think i’ll link to other pieces in my essays, even if they’re easily accessible, just in case!
