What I did
Today I decided to first focus on the text of my project, i.e., the meat of the assignment. I continued working on the Writer/Designer analysis questions to give me a better sense of how I want to focus my presentation and started thinking about organization. I need to finalize exactly what I want to mention so that I can set up my organization accordingly. After working on the writing for a bit, I decided to get a bit more done with my screenshots. I’ve put arrows and boxes in a few so that it will be obvious what I’m discussing. Photoshopping them in turned out to be significantly easier than I had originally thought, so preparing all of my screenshots shouldn’t take too much more time.
Why I did it
I’ve been focusing almost exclusively on the interface itself (researching, testing, essentially getting a feel for the tool). While that’s all good and necessary, I’ve neglected the writing portion of the project a bit. Today gave me an opportunity to catch up–or at least start considering some of the organizational challenges I’ll certainly face. Similarly, determining my talking points will ensure that my presentation is smooth, effective, and focused.
