Checklist Observations:
1. Areas of analysis–I have covered most of the rhetorical situation so far for my web essay. However, I have not considered author and genre and will need to put more thought into that. The design choices of Fetchnotes was probably the easiest area of analysis for me to complete as well as the affordances and constraints. I have covered modes of communication, but plan to continue working on and improve that information.
2. Screenshots–I have already taken all of the screenshots I plan to integrate into my project to reinforce and enhance my text. A lot of the screenshots were ones I was taking throughout the process of setting up my Fetchnotes and posting to it, that I already had. I plan to refer to the screenshots and make sure to explain each in my text as well as label each photo. After reviewing the check sheet, I decided to include a quoted caption below the screenshot if there is important text in the picture to ensure clarity for readers.
3. Navigation–I have already set up clear navigation for the project on my WordPress. I followed the guidelines provided on the class blog and I believe the pages of my web essay will be very easy for the reader to follow.
4. Embedded slideshow– I have yet to embed my slideshow somewhere in my web essay, but I have reviewed the helpful links on the class blog and I am confident I will be able to complete it pretty easily.
What I Did:
In addition to completing the checklist, I went back and revised the work I already have completed for my web essay. I added more content and developed my ideas more as well.
Why I Did It:
After completing the checklist, my first step to revise my what I have already completed for my web essay is something I usually do every time I work on my project. I like to review my work each time I come back to it because I am always able to spot something to fix with fresh eyes and make any changes necessary to keep improving my work. I developed the ideas for my web essay, such as the areas of analysis from the checklist, because I felt some areas needed extra attention.
