What I did: Today I created a blog for my Writing and Digital Media class at Virginia Tech. After setting up the basics of the blog, like privacy settings, website title, and username, I named my blog I Woke Up Like This and changed the theme and colors. The theme I chose is called Minnow, and the color I used is a very light, rosy pink.
Why I did it: As a lover of all things Beyoncé, my ideas for titles came from her song lyrics. I chose my title because this is my first blog, and, while it will not be perfect, it will be one hundred percent me, just like Beyoncé. I Woke Up Like This is a statement of unapologetic acceptance of oneself. My theme is uncomplicated and clear, and the color I chose is as close to my favorite color as I could find. As I familiarize myself with the site, I hope to include more pictures and facets of my identity,like these pictures of me in Pittsburgh, my favorite place on earth.
