2/28/15- Today we chose our tool for project 3. Due to the snow, bus mechanics, and luck of a Friday I came in late to the class but still was able to get a tool that I was interested in which i am thankful for. As long as I didn’t have to present an audio tool, the most foreign concept to me, I was going to be ecstatic. I am working on the JS Timeline which I chose for a multitude of reasons. I saw this tool used in an online Time Magazine’s article and thought it gave the article an reader friendly tool to enhance the articles key points. Videos and pictures where used to show history and to me it was a tool that took a mundane static timeline and transformed the history to life.
I am very interested in using pictures and media so this timeline looked fun. I also made a similar timeline through an online generator and wanted to understand the differences and similarities of the two for future use. Timeline JS has three key steps which looked simple enough, however when doing a quick test run in class I already found that their coding is very sensitive. I think this has more to offer than meets the eye and I am excited to work on it!
